16: I Wanna be a Pirate

I promise, this week's comic is the last with the confusing layout of panels. Here is where I learn the lesson, except I always knew the lesson. I just failed to apply it in these couple early cases. I will spare you the confusing compositions from here on out.
It's how I learn: When, through research, I receive the knowledge that something doesn't work, I have to give it a try the wrong way on purpose. If I succeed regardless of the warnings, then I have new data to share with the community of nay-sayers. If I fail, then it was to be expected, and I gain enough knowledge to try again. On the second try, which becomes an honest attempt to succeed, when things start going wrong, I can better recognise the problems and counter them more effectively.
Meanwhile, on the other side of my brain, I like the new blog setup. I used to have to post this announcement with the comic, late Saturday night, while my brain was mush after a week of working. Now I can just shove the art up on time, then post words the next morning, when I feel more inclined to express myself for the day.
